Heritage

1920 Founding

Founded 1920 – CKS Property Consultants Pte Ltd was founded under the name of Messrs. Cheong Koon Seng and Co. in January 1920. The proprietor, Mr Cheong Koon Seng, was born in 1880 and educated in Anglo Chinese School (ACS). He is a reputable pioneer in Singapore’s auction and estate agency market.

Mr Cheong Koon Seng was also a well-known public figure who played a very active role in the community. His colonial roles and responsibilities include Justice of the Peace (1926), Municipal Commissioner (1931) and President of Chinese Association (1931).

Mr Cheong Koon Seng’s legacy includes the present-day CKS Property Consultants Pte Ltd (now a member of PhillipCapital Group) as well as a road named Koon Seng Road in the vibrant Katong neighbourhood. As one of the earliest ACS students and President of ACS Old Boys’ Association for many years, Cheong Koon Seng House in ACS was also named after him.

1985 Rename

Change of company name to Cheong Koon Seng (CKS) Auctioneers & Valuers Pte Ltd.

1992

Became an affiliate member of PhillipCapital Group, an integrated global financial services group.

1996

Appointed to HDB panel of valuers.

1999 Rename

Change of company name to CKS Property Consultants Pte Ltd.

2002

Appointed to UOB panel of valuers.

2012

Appointed to DBS panel of valuers.

2013

Appointed to HSBC panel of valuers.

Entered into partnership agreement with Daiwa Real Estate Appraisal Co. Ltd, a leading Japanese appraisal firm.

2014

Entered into partnership agreement with First Appraisal & Consulting Co. Ltd, the oldest appraisal firm in South Korea, as well as China Appraisal Association, a union of five of China’s local leading property appraisal and consultancy companies.

2016

Became an affiliate member of Agility Group, an international fund and asset management company.

2017

Appointed to Maybank panel of valuers.

2018

Partnered with UOB to launch the first bank-banked instant property valuation service on the UOB Home Solution platform.
